The author describes some aspects of the external relations of the psychiatrie institution (centre).
He states:
1. There is a qualitative and quantitative direct communication between the internal and external relations of the psychiatrie centre. 
2. The external relations of the psychiatric centre with the community must be as direct as possible.
3. Continuity of care for psychiatric patients must be guaranteed.
4. The psychiatric centre has a tendency to develop in the direction of servicecentre, more than in the direction of clinical institution.
5. There must be an integration of relations of the psychiatric centre with other institutions in the field of mental health.
The author concludes by stating that the needs of the patients must be the base of the organisational activities, not the organisations themselves.
