Oppositional-defiant disorder and conduct disorder in childhood: etiology, assessment, and treatment

In this review, first the various types of symptoms and the relation between the two categories of behaviour disorders are discussed. Then, the factors in the child and the family that place children at risk for the development of these disorders are discussed. Those issues that deserve special attention in the assessment of children with odd or cd are mentioned. Finally, treatment methods that have been proven to be effective to some extent are discussed.
