Most 'radical' critics of psychiatry in Holland are not psychiatrists themselves, but members of other disciplines or non-professionals. Their criticism of psychiatry and of psychiatrists is seen as derived from a Marxian point of view. The importante of this type of criticism is commented upon as complementary to the more common psychoanalytical type of self-criticism of psychiatrists.
