A 13 year old boy bas been described who developed hystero-epileptic fits due to an encephalitis. These fits arise during schoolactivities and frustrating situations. The fits can be stopped by giving the patient a hand. There was a rapid development of a sound conditioned cold pressor reaction and at the same time a Pavlovian induced inhibition was found. The treatment based on these facts consisted in evoking one fit after the other. These massed practise had a good result.
