Diekstra
Research examining differences between groups of suicidal and non-suicidal persons is critically reviewed. A simple method of meta-analysis on 81 published comparative studies revealed social characteristics to be more powerful than clinical items. As a result, until now research has little to offer to the clinician for the assessment of suicidal risk. Only social characteristics can be of (little) help.
