Effecten van een regionale nascholingscursus over de geestelijke gezondheidszorg
The references of people with psychic and social problems to institutions in the field of the mental health care is determined by the attitude of the assistants, as appears from earlier investigations: the competitence with regard to the selftreatment of such people, the acceptance of psychic problems and the evaluation and knowledge of mental health care provisions in the region. In an evaluation research we checked to what extent a training-course in the field of the mental health care can influence some aspects of the attitude with regard to the references. It appears not only that the course is assessed positively, but also that the knowledge about mental health care increases and that the alledged referring behaviour changes. The participants express less wishes with regard to all kinds of regional mental health care offices. The conclusion is that a trainingcourse for people out of the ambulant health care contributes to the up-building of the refer connections within the mental health care in a region.
