On the treatment of crises without admission into a psychiatric hospital. The determinants of the decision for psychiatrie hospitalisation are discussed. In the treatment of crises admission is not always a satisfactory procedure. Some strategies to come to an outpatient treatment are given. The problems concerning suicide risks, agressive or psychotic behavior are discussed. Some suggestions to deal with these situations are made. Finally some data are given, concerning this way of prevention of hospitalisation in a department of a Community Mental Health Service during 1974 and 1975.
