Symmetrical symbolization, an alternative to Gendlin's focusing technique
This article aims at applying the experiential psychotherapeutic framework to children. An introduction is given both to Gendlin's experiential theory and the focusing technique, followed by a fundamental application of the theory to the case of a 9 year old boy. For the therapeutic praxis with children the authors develop an alternative to the focusing technique, called symmetrical symbolization.
