'Waarom ben je hier?' Een motivatie-onderzoek
J.J.L. ten Brink
A series of 50 children, representative of a child guidance clinic population, were asked what their parents had explained about the reason for coming to the clinic.
If no explanation had been given, or such explanation as: they want to see you — you can play there — they'll take a test, the child was asked if he had insisted on a better explanation. 1f not, whether he had any idea himself of the reason for coming. If negative, the purpose of the clinic in general was explained to the child, followed by the question: how would that fit in with you?
The answers were ordered in six categories.
The result of this study shows that 60% of the children, young and old, dull and bright, were poorly informed.
The result indicates that changes in clinic-procedures are needed.
