A psychiatrist as a consultant for primary caregivers

summary Over the last few years there has been increasing interest in the fact that health professionals in primary care and in secondary care often collaborate in the treatment of psychiatric patients. Psychiatric nurses, psychologists and psychiatrists working in secondary care find themselves acting as consultants for their counterparts in primary care. This article is a retrospective study that discusses the preliminary results of a project in which a psychiatrist serves as a consultant for health colleagues working in primary care.
