Instruments for measuring eating disorders

summary In clinical practice various measuring instruments are available for screening and diagnosing eating disorders. Dutch-language versions of the most important of these instruments are reviewed. On the basis of psychometric criteria and clinical utility the following instruments are recommended: the Eating Disorder Inventory (EDI) for clinical use and the Eating Disorder Examination (EDE) for clinical research.
