A somatic disorder in a somatising patient. A case study
M. Hoebert, W.G. Staal, H. Koers
summary The prevalence of somatic comorbidity in the psychiatric population is high. Due to a complicated relation between psychiatric and somatic disorders it is often hard to distinguish somatic symptoms from psychiatric symptoms. This case demonstrates the importance of such a distinction and stresses the importance of a proper somatic anamnesis and physical examination.
