Short report
A retrospective investigation into the course of judicial authorized admissions in a non-academic psychiatric hospital
J.E. Hovens, S. Spierdijk
summary In a retrospective research the juridical course is investigated in seventy patients who were involuntary admitted with a judicial authorization in a non-academic psychiatric hospital in 1997. Patients with such an authorization had already a longer history in psychiatry. A quarter of judicial authorizations were actively discontinued by the psychiatrist. In the discussion the authors plead for prospective research about the judicial authorization in order to answer questions concerning the criteria about the authorization and its effect.
