Evidence-based psychiatry in psychiatric residency training
G. Pieters
The introduction of an evidence-based approach in psychiatry has several consequences for psychiatric residency training. New knowledge and skills should be added to classical components of medical training (knowledge of pathofysiology and sensitivity for patient's needs). To successfully implement evidence-based clinical practice and training, availibility of informatics, selection and support of teachers as role models for students and a regard for criticism are needed. An attitude of critical modesty is to be promoted.
