The treatment of two elderly patients with anxiety disorders

A 72 years old man with a panic disorder and mild agoraphobia as well as a specific phobia and a 66 years old man with an obsessive compulsive disorder and secondary depression were treated successfully with cognitive behavioural therapy. Both cases show that also in the elderly successful treatment of anxiety disorders is possible, respectively 50 and 35 years after onset of the disorder.
