The body-mind relationship is a mystery that has puzzled mankind up until now. It also occupies the mind of psychiatrists. Psychiatry commutes between materialism and dualism. Nowadays materialism is predominant. Therefore the biomedical model is preferent in psychiatry. In this article the restrictions of this approach are given. Arguments are summed up why mental illnesses will always ask for a biological and a psychosocial approach.
