Comorbidity: a false problem?

Considering the general and above all silent acceptance of the notion of comorbidity in today's psychiatry some questions are raised about its meaning and whether it is based on a rationale. Some literature on the matter is discussed which leads to the work hypothesis that comorbidity in its actual widely accepted meaning is an artefact generated by the hypostasis of the items of the DSM-classificatory system.
