Territorial aspects of mania
T. Kuipers
One of the main characteristics of manic behavior is the tendency to transgress and injure the interpersonal boundaries. In this sense manic behavior can be described as territorial. In this paper it is shown that the manic patient impresses the environment in a display of activity and grandiosity, but at the same time he is endangered by exclusion from the group. These features have implications for the appropriate treatment, which have so far been neglected in the literature.
