This exploring study analysed the formal characteristics of the personal constructsystem of patients with a eating disorder and the conceptual changes that are predicted for a good outcome. Most findings confirm the observations reported in literature. The most useful measures are cognitive complexity and consistency, together with the relationship between the elements, especially when their changes during treatment are taken into account.
