Where is God in psychiatry? H.C. Rümke in the Theological-Psychiatric Association, 31-10-1946
J.A. van Belzen
The article presents parts of an unpublished text by H.C. Rümke (1893-1967) and of the report of the discussion of it in the Theological-Psychiatric Association. The genesis of this Association is briefly described. In a historic review Rümke indicates that psychiatric approaches that deal with the inner life of patients can regard religion. The discussion gives attention to themes as: religious honesty and religious appeal, the differences between pastor and psychiatrist, the conception of man and of health, psychoanalysis and religion.
