The Malignant Neuroleptic Syndrome
E. van Hoof, H. de Cuyper
The Malignant Neuroleptic Syndrome is a relatively unknown, sometimes lethal complication of a treatment with neuroleptics. Based on an extensive study of literature, we present a review of the clinical characteristics and differential diagnosis of this syndrome. We pay special attention to the central versus peripheral etiopathogenesis and propose a possible treatment strategy.
