In this article some literature data about the concept of psychogenic pain are discussed. After having considered the concept of pain, the psychogenic pain experience and the psychogenic pain patient, some psychological variables in connection with psychogenic pain are discussed. Finally the concept of psychogenic pain is situated within the framework of psychodynamic, behavioral and ineractional theories.
