Varieties of 'Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy'
E. Collumbien, R.A. Pierloot
An analysis is made of three forms of 'Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy', as worked out by D. H. Malan (Tavistock Clinic - London) who calls his form 'Brief Therapy', by P. E. Sifneos (Beth Israƫl Hospital - Boston) with 'Short-term anxiety-provoking psychotherapy' and by H. Davanloo (Montreal General Hospital - Montreal) with 'Broad-focused short-term dynamic psychotherapy'. They are compared in respect of the organization of their therapy-units in a teaching hospital, selection criteria, techniques, termination procedures, outcome-evaluation, teaching and supervision of therapies.
