What happens to short-stay psychiatric patients after discharge
G.H.M.M. ten Horn
Findings from a psychiatric case register indicate that one fourth of the short-stay-patients of 1974 did not contact any other psychiatric service during the year following discharge. Twothirds became out-patients and contacted the services 8,5 times on average during the year following discharge, while one third of which some also were out-patients were readmitted for on average another 10 weeks.
