Application of Gedo's metamodel in the treatment of borderline patients
J.W. Hummelen
Gedo describes in his psychoanalytic metamodel how each developmental stage requires its own theoretical model and therapeutic modality. These therapeutic modalities have to be taken into account in the treatment of borderline patients.
This article decribes as an example of such a sequential approach a psychotherapeutic treatment program.
It also describes how Gedo's model can be of use as a diagnostic (and therapeutic) framework especially in the differentiation of personality disorders.
