Follow-up of patients with an obsessive compulsive neurosis
C.A.L. Hoogduin
The outpatient treatment of obsessive-compulsives is often successful. This article gives the results of the treatment of 60 patients. The success rate, measured after 10 treatment sessions, was 78%. On follow-up, after an average of 21 months, improvement appeared to have been maintained or to have increased in 70% of the patients. It is noteworthy that with this outpatient, gradual approach only one patient refused treatment and only five failed to complete the course of treatment.
