`Hysterical stupor every other day': pitfalls in psychiatry
H.M.A. de Hoop, G.E.G. Verhoef, P.J. Koehler
The authors present the case of a patient showing recurrent attacks of behavioural disorder. A final diagnosis of insulinoma was only made after the appearance of the first signs of neurological involvement. The attacks disappeared completely after appropriate treatment. Diagnostic procedures and therapy are discussed. A short review of the literature on neurological and psychiatric aspects of insulinoma is given.
