Diagnosing personality disorders: A study of the agreement between questionnaires and the clinical Axis-II diagnosis
S.J.T. Jansen, I.J. Duijsens
This study examined the agreement between two questionnaires for the diagnosis of personality disorders, the qpt and the mmpi-pd. The agreement of both instruments with the clinical diagnosis was studied as well. The results show a moderate agreement between the corresponding scales of the two questionnaires. Furthermore, there was little agreement between both questionnaires and the clinical diagnosis. These results give rise to a discussion on the lack of a 'gold standard' for diagnosing personality disorders.
