Heeft het zin om te spreken van een interactie tussen psychische en somatische factoren?
A. Mooy: Does it make sense to speak of interaction between psychic and somatic factors?
An analysis has been made of the concept of action as opposed to that of movement. Two corresponding scientific projects are distinguished, the one having its centre in the action concept, the other in the movement concept. The somatic approach is part of the Jatter. Proposed is that the field of concepts of either is not reducible to each other and that both have there own validity. Consequently it does not make sense to speak of influence or interaction between the phenomena described in both of the projects. Some implications of this point of view for psychiatry are offered. One of them is that the psychic factor is an intrinsic component of pscyhiatry as a branch of medicine.
