Case report
A man with amnestic disorder and psychotic symptoms caused by Behç;ets's disease
A.L.C. de Vries, I.M. van Vliet
A young man with amnestic disorder and psychotic symptoms of unknown origin was found to be suffering from Behçet's disease. This is a multi-organ disease in which oral aphtae occur together with vasculitis-like defects in several other organs. If the central nervous system is also affected, one calls the disease neuro-Behçet. This case history shows that serious memory problems might have been prevented if the disease had been recognized earlier.
