'Day-treatment for acute psychiatric problems'
J.L. Staal, F.C.G. van Gils
In this article a form of day-treatment is presented for acute psychiatric problems. An introduction regarding recent development in day-treatment is followed by a listing of the bottlenecks from which this form of crisis intervention in day-treatment (ADB) has been developed. A description is given of the treatment in terms of location, staff formation, methods of approach and patientgroup. A description of more than a hundred treated patients is presented and discussed. In a discussion some bottlenecks are discussed and a comparison is made with OVDB (admission preventing day-treatment) and a regular day-hospital.
