Praecox-feeling and psychosis-indirection
C.P.F. Lemke
Precious moments of uncertainty occur both in the diagnostics of psychoses (Rümke's praecox-feeling) and in the art of interpreting poetry (Riffaterre's indirections). The praecox-feeling refers in particular to reciprocity failing to occur in the contact.
The concept of indirection especially points to the shift in meaning that has taken place, as a result of which an originally intersubjective reality is no longer shared. A strong analogy with the concept of psychosis presents itself here.
For this and other reasons, the author proposes to introduce into diagnostics the concept of psychosis-indirection, not as a new supposed tailpiece of the diagnostics of psychoses, but rather to place an unambiguous marking at its starting point.
