Aspecten van ziektebeleving en psychotherapie in een niet-westerse cultuur
J.W. Hummelen
The individual person in many non-western cultures experiences himself in connection with the world around him. Illness is experencied as a disturbance of the union with the social, natural and supernatural world. Psychotherapy has in view to affect a renewed harmonical union between the individual and his world. From an example, the initiation of a psychotic woman in cult with the Yoruba in Nigeria, these aspects are illustrated.
