Homoërotiek en neurose bij de man
Homo-erotism and neurosis — Homo-erotism in man is approached from the assumption that dualistic thinking presents reality in a wrong way by presenting complementary poles as antagonistic poles. Thus 'hetero' and 'homo' are considered as each others complement and form the poles between which this erotism balances. The pattern on which this idea is projected is the libidodevelopment in a systematic form. The development is harmonious if, through the different phases of this development, an equilibrium is found between this opposites. Choosing one pole and fleeing from the other leads to neurosis. In the phallic phase the equilibrium is to be found between the opposites: independant — dependant, perfect — imperfect, sexual — not sexual. The homo-erotic tendencies can lead to difficulties. The cause is not to be sought in the genetic homoerotic predestination, but in the impossibility of finding the equilibrium.
The possibilities for 'self-realisation are not directly dependant on the erotic nature. Homo-erotism is not cause of the neurosis; the cause lies in the impossibility of realisation of this form of erotism.
