Ervaringen met disulfiram-implantaties bij alcoholici met beschrijving van een disulfiram-psychose
Th.B. Kraft
The author reports his experiences in 21 alcoholics in whom disulfiram tablets were implanted into the M.rectus abdominis. The — as yet scanty — literature is briefly discussed, as well as the comparatively limited field of indication. The case of one patient who developed a psychosis after the intervention is reviewed in greater detail, in view of the importance of this development. The conclusion appears to be warranted that for a small number of alcoholics the implantation method means a valuable addition to the therapeutic possibilities, in spite of the many contra-indications.
