Behaviour therapy is introduced by stressing its behavioural background. Basic principles of classical conditioning are described. Hull's work is briefly mentioned.
The outcome of behaviour therapy is considered mainly by referring to researches into phobic behaviour by Gelder and Marks.
Problems in indication for behaviour therapy are discussed. Some frequent criticisms, mainly from dynamic origin, are commented upon.
In conclusion the importante of the development of behavioural therapy was brought to hte attention of the audience.
