A survey is given of a group psychotherapy project running for two years with the patients of the Second Psychiatric Hospital of the University of Utrecht. Four groups with two therapists each were formed. The groups met once a week for a 45 minute period.
The project was accompanied by attempts at systematic investigation. Analysis of the problems encountered in finding suitable instruments provided hypotheses with regard to character and developments of the group-process.
A comparison of the findings in two of the f our groups made it possible to present some of the actual experiences with the groups.
